Earth Meditation
Here is a simple suggestion for opening yourself to the sacredness of the natural world. Try lying on the earth for 20 minutes a day every day until you sense it has become just a repetitive practice.
At first, you may experience nothing other than a period of rest.
Try to allow yourself to sink into the earth. Let her hold you. Let her hold you more and more as you sink deeper into her. You must let her hold you if this meditation is to work for you.
Remember that the earth is alive, it is living and breathing.
Perhaps you will come to sense her as our Great Mother. Perhaps you will come to feel her pulse as you lie on her. Perhaps her pulse will soothe you and even re-calibrate your pulses.
If you lie on a blanket be sure it is made of natural fibers. Synthetics can block the earth pulse.
